Structural Biology is a study that combines various molecular biology, biochemistry and biophysical methods to resolve macromolecular structures. Methods utilized include X-ray Crystallography, Cryo-Electron Microscopy, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy, Small-angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) and various biophysical techniques such as Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) and Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectroscopy. The advancements in these technologies have made them straightforwardly applicable in ones’ research regardless of their background. Today, combinatorial of the available technologies have made research discoveries even more powerful with greater impact of outcomes in various sectors such as health care, agriculture and food industries. Some striking examples include drug discoveries, disease cure, and enzymes that have been made valuable for industrial applications.

On this note, MGI has taken the initiative to organize the ISBS 2017 for the first time. The main objectives of ISBS 2017 are to expose all researchers, scientists and students from different area to integrative structural biology and to demonstrate the application of structural biology in one's own research topic. In addition, MGI would like to inform all researchers that the platform is available in our institute and our facilities are well equipped in supporting this area of research.

This event will emphasize on utilizing the integrative techniques in structural biology as well as biophysical techniques to expand your research findings thus providing answers beyond hypotheses. It is primarily aimed at the national researchers/scientists of all backgrounds and fields, from all research/research-allied organisations and corporations.

The symposium will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday the 6th and Tuesday the 7thof March 2017. It will be preceded and followed by a mini workshop*limited places, allocated on a first come, first served basis. Our goal is also to bring together researchers from different backgrounds to have exchange of ideas and instigate more collaborative work amongst us for future research development. Therefore we urge participants to submit an Abstract for poster/oral sessions (although this is not compulsary) that will also be held during the 2-day Symposium to meet these purposes. We offer prizes for best poster, and oral presentations. Abstract submission deadline is 24th February 2017.

We charge a minimum amount of fee for participation but payment can be made after the online registration by 27th February 2017. Lunches and tea breaks will be provided during the entire event. There will be a Symposium dinner that is inclusive in the fee.

Whether you are a chemist, physicist, biologist or a medical doctor, this symposium is for you if you wish to have an impactful finding in your research.

• The benefits of joining this symposium include:
• exposure in the field of integrative structural biology
• introduction to the latest technology and application in structural biology |
• promote cross-disciplinary collaborations amongst scientists from diverse disciplines
• networking between experts in the field

Abstract submission deadline extended to 24th February 2017
