Biophysical methods are techniques to study the structure, properties, dynamics or function of biomolecules at the atomic or molecular level. They comprise an array of techniques including microscopy, spectroscopy, calorimetry methods and molecular modelling. The main objective of this course is to give an introduction into the broad range of modern biophysical methods used to study the different aspects of protein–ligand interactions. This workshop will cover the theoretical aspects as well as hands-on practical on several biophysical techniques including isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), surface plasmon resonance (SPR),circular dichroism (CD), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and X-ray crystallography.
